VergoUK Quarterly Review

April 19, 2021 Back Pain, DSE Assessments, Ergonomics, Workplace Wellbeing

Welcome to VergoUK’s quarterly review. We are already over a quarter of the way through the year, and we think it is safe to say that we just don’t know where the time has gone! It is great to see that the UK is slowly starting to wake up after its third lockdown and at VergoUK, we are loving the sight of businesses reopening once again.

Since we have flown through the first three months of the year, we wanted to have a review of what we have been up to and our plans for the rest of 2021.

Quarterly update – what have we been up to?

Since the beginning of the year we’ve been working really hard to prepare for the UK to ‘wake up’ once again. The entire VergoUK team has been busy booking in DSE assessments for existing and new customers whilst preparing the business for growth.

We work closely with a number of occupational health customers and carry out our DSE assessments on their behalf. With this, it’s been great to be in communication with additional third party clients who we have also recently begun working with. Carrying out DSE assessments on behalf of our clients means that we can take the time out of arranging assessments, carrying them out and report writing which is a great help for them.

Aside from the work that we carry out as a third party provider, we have also become increasingly busier with our DSE assessment bookings and ‘sweeps’. Our sweeps are particularly popular for customers who have a team of staff where they would all like assessing.

Our sweeps can be carried out in half or full day appointments which would involve one of our ergonomic DSE assessors visiting site to carry out your assessments. In a full day sweep, we could typically assess 25 members of staff making it a great solution for teams, departments, or entire offices.

We’ve still also been carrying out our single DSE assessments whether that be in-person or remotely. In recent weeks there has been a shift towards more employees returning to the office and with this, members of staff are requiring DSE assessments in order to ensure they can work comfortably after twelve months of working from home.

New team member

In recent VergoUK news, we have welcomed a new team member. Operations manager Lauren joined Vergo this April and will oversee the smooth running of many exciting changes that we have on the horizon. Lauren’s role will involve streamlining our processes and looking after everything from new software to gaining accreditations to support our growth.

What we have noticed about the working environment

There has of course been changes to the way everyone has been working over the past year. This has meant that businesses have reviewed their policies and lots of companies have pledged to adopt a hybrid working model. This means that thousands of workers who were previously office based full time, will now have additional flexibility and be able to work from both the office and home.

With this, businesses still have the same health and safety obligations to stay in line with meaning a DSE assessment is required in both the home and office. We’ve been supporting businesses with this new way of working. Our online DSE assessment platform is a really useful way of rolling out assessments company wide.

The change in the way we all work also means that the office is now viewed very differently. Hot desking is really taking off and emphasis is being placed on creating engaging and vibrant environments to work in that get people excited to be at work.

Changing your office environment changes your mindset which in turn increases creativity and boosts staff retention. At VergoUK, we also provide office furniture fit outs to help support any office transition whether that’s a move to a new premises or redesign of your existing space. It’s really exciting to work with clients who share our vision of changing the workplace and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.

What we want to do

Moving towards summer, we’re looking forward to continue working with our customers to ensure everyone can work comfortably. Our DSE assessments are more than a box ticking exercise. They ensure staff members feel cared for, boost productivity and morale, reduce absenteeism and save businesses money.

We are also excited to be onboarding lots of new clients and helping them improve their comfort. Although this year has been tough for many, it’s inspiring to see that many businesses continue to grow – something which we love supporting our customers with.

As well as carrying out DSE assessments for businesses and organisations, we also work closely with schools. Now that teachers are back in the classroom, we are able to support them and create a workspace that means they can carry out their tasks in a comfortable manner. We also provide our fit out service to schools and have a number of exciting projects that we are working towards in the coming months.

As always, if you have any questions or want to get in touch with a member of the VergoUK team, feel free to call us on 01422 659051 or fill out the form below and we will be in touch shortly.
