Company Wide DSE Assessments

A display screen equipment (DSE) assessment helps employees work comfortably at their workstation, whether that be at home or in the office. Those who use DSE equipment such as a laptop, desktop, tablet or mobile for more than an hour at a time should have a DSE assessment. A DSE assessment ensures everyone can work comfortably and avoid aches and pains.

Of course, the past twelve months has seen a complete shift in the way people work. Hundreds of thousands of office workers were told to work from home last March, with many now still doing so. This means some businesses have adopted a hybrid working model. This means time in the office and at home is split. Some businesses on the other hand have begun welcoming their staff back full time.

Regardless of where employees are working, the same workplace obligations apply. All employees’ health and safety needs to be considered. This is where our DSE assessments come in.

What happens in a DSE assessment?

A DSE assessment takes an overview of how an individual works and their set-up to get a snapshot of their workstation. From here, our ergonomic DSE assessors asks a series of questions. This helps to determine how comfortable the person is and to see where problems flag up.

Following this, if any adjustments to the workstation can be made (such as adjust a chair or screen height), they will be done. After the assessment, a full written report is provided with any recommendations for new equipment if necessary.

When do you need a DSE assessment?

It is good practice to carry out a DSE assessment on staff members every twelve months. A new assessment needs carrying out whenever the following occurs:

  • There is a new employee
  • Somebody moves to a differed department
  • New equipment is used
  • Somebodies job role changes significantly
  • There is a change in working environments (e.g working from home)

With this, we find that often businesses prefer to assess all of their employees at once so that they are all up to date. This makes it easier to keep up with health and safety audits and the monitoring of employee’s wellbeing at work.

Company wide DSE assessments

To help businesses with assessing a team of employees, our company wide DSE assessments are popular as we can make on-site visits to your workplace. Equally, if you have remote worker’s, we can carry out our DSE assessments remotely via telephone or video call.

Depending on the number of employees you would like assessing would determine whether you needed a half or full day slot. Typically, we can carry out twenty-five DSE assessments in a full day. This makes it great for offices or departments that have roughly this number of employees who need assessing.

Of course, if you have more employees, we can carry out assessments over the course of a few days. This way, your whole building or office is assessed. If you have a team of up to fifteen employees, we can carry out these assessments in half a day.

Our company wide DSE assessments are really popular with HR and Health and Safety Managers as they ensure everyone is happy and comfortable whilst at work. You can see one of our case studies here to find out more.

If you’d like some more information about our DSE assessments or would like to book a half or full day to get you and your colleagues assessed, just fill out the form below and we’d be more than happy to help!
